The South African Citizens Tribunal (SACT) was established in direct response to the escalating constitutional and human rights crisis confronting the Republic of South Africa. As government institutions continue to erode under systemic corruption and political dysfunction, SACT serves as a vital mechanism for accountability and truth.
The department actively identifies human rights violations and collaborates closely with the Human Rights Impact Lab (HRIL) to investigate, document, and pursue appropriate action. Simultaneously, the African Governance Reform and Advisory (AGRA) division works to develop long-term governance solutions tailored to South Africa’s complex realities.
In the wake of unfulfilled promises of liberation and democratic transformation, the current administration, led by the African National Congress, has consistently failed to uphold the rights, security, and dignity of its citizens.
As the state's obligations go unmet, the people rise to demand justice, reform, and a future rooted in the rule of law.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to building a just, accountable, and inclusive South Africa—one where all citizens, regardless of race, culture, or background, may live in freedom, safety, and human dignity.
A tribunal is a special group set up to identify, investigate and make decisions on important issues, like human rights violations, crimes, or abuse of power. It works to bring justice and hold wrongdoers accountable, especially when the government fails to act fairly or effectively. Unlike regular courts, tribunals are often created for specific problems and operate outside the normal legal system.
SACT is an independent tribunal that identifies, investigates and exposes corruption, human rights violations, state capture, and foreign interference in South Africa. Its goal is to uncover the truth and fight for justice when official systems fail.
The South African Citizens Tribunal (SACT) is not part of the government. It is led by the people and focuses on uncovering the truth and seeking justice for victims when major organizations like the UN, AU, and ICC have failed or been influenced. Since SACT is based in the USA, it can work without pressure from local or regional politics. This helps it stay fair and look at South Africa’s problems from a global point of view. The tribunal also works to gain support from the international community, especially from Western countries, to help bring back democracy, justice, and accountability in South Africa.
Launched under SACT, it is an urgent and unapologetic international call to action against South African government’s decades-long pattern of corruption, state capture, crimes against humanity, and fundamental human rights abuses. These conditions amount to foreseeable, preventable, and systematic harm inflicted on civilians.
When a state knowingly permits or perpetuates widespread and severe suffering, such actions fulfil the criteria for crimes against humanity and gross Human Right violations.
We urgently call upon the relevant national and international authorities to investigate these grave violations, hold those responsible accountable and take immediate action to prevent further atrocities, ensuring justice and protection for the affected populations in accordance with international law.
Formal submissions to the ICC and ICJ to highlight the South African government's selective and politically motivated use of International Law.
Recognition of refugee status for Afrikaners and the White minority of South Africa as a persecuted cultural group under International Human Rights definitions.
The enforcement of specific, focused sanctions on ANC officials and other involved political actors who bear responsibility for corruption, crimes against humanity, and persistent breaches of human rights.
Initiation of legal and diplomatic measures to hold accountable those responsible for the ongoing corruption, racial discrimination, violence, economic collapse, crimes against humanity and violations of human rights perpetrated by the state and its protected actors.
